I have tried with a ladder but the ground is too unlevel and my ladder is too short! Can I help promote growth lower down?

  1. Cut the bottom of a plastic soda bottle, and cut a V notch into it.   Then attach it to a broom handle.   They work great for apples, and might work just as well on cherries.

  2. We had some thick fishing rods that we didn't use anymore and attached a hook from a wire clothes hanger onto one end. Then we would hook a branch and pull it down and then get the cherries. This works with trees that are too big to reach most of the fuit on the top but are still not too big.

If you have one that's too big I'd just climb it.
