I have a chest with a hinged finished top and would like to cover the top. What is the best way to attach?

You could like wear a T-shirt or something...

Having hinges in your chest is tight. Did you get a device implanted, like Iron Man?

You can get a custom pillow sewn, or do it yourself with straps and have the straps tie under the lid.

You can staple fabric, or nail using upholsterers tacks, to the top and use a foam pad to fill then attach the end.

You could have a piece made to glue to the top that is masonite on bottom and uphholstered on top.

You could have apiece of tempered glass cut to fit the top. Many options, perhaps give us an idea of more what you are looking for if I missed it.
