I have a child car seat but there is no harness fitted where could i buy one in uk?

There is a child's life, or serious injury at stake here if you have a make-shift seat.  An accident occurs ? you would have to live with it... Please! go purchase a new good quality seat.....

try halfords i'm sure they could probably fit for free as well

Halfords or mother care. Might be as cheap to buy a complete seat.
