I have a circuit breaker which has blown out or tripped 4 times in the last 16 months the circuit breaker is?

responsible for the dishwasher the garbage disposal and four outlet plugs that are rarely used. How do i go about fixing this without just switching the circuit breaker?

Does it trip only when you are using the dishwasher and the garbage disposal at the same time?  You are either drawing too much current with an appliance or the circuit breaker is starting to go bad.  Since it has only happened four time in 16 months I believe you are just drawing too much current.  Do you have a toaster or toaster oven plugged into one of the seldom used outlets?  Try to figure out what is actually drawing too much current and make sure you don't use too many appliances on that circuit at one time.
