I have a classical guitar and i was planning on coloring it and making it look better any ideas???

im going to buy a new acoustic guitar so i just wanted to have fun with this guitar.

i plan to make it look like the gibson sg but i'll see ur ideas first.

  1. Personally, I love the look of a guitar in its natural wood colors.  I'm not a fan of acoustic guitars that have been finished in opaque colors by the manufacturer, as I think that's just a ploy to hide imperfections in the wood.

    And I hate it even more when people take it upon themselves to paint their guitars or put stickers and other c**p on them.  Why??


  2. Make sure you buy a cheap one.  While it may look good when you finish, the guitar will probably be ruined tone wise.

  3. When I was young and stupid I decorated my old LG-3 Gibson acoustic with paint designs. Looking back, and after removing the alterations, it was simply stupid of me.

    I now treat my guitars as I would my body; no painting (tattoos), gimmicks (piercings), and no gaudiness whatsoever.

    Remember the KISS principle: Keep It Simple, Stupid.

  4. Huh?  I don't know how painting a classical guitar can make it look better.. It pains me to see prople paint guitars.. it also destroys the SOUND of the guitar... you do know that, right?
