I have a code for my Ford stereo, how do I get it to work?

I have recently purchased a 2002 Ford Fiesta, I have been told that when it was in the garage the battery had died, and the code for the stereo will need to be inputted again. I have the code, but I understand there is a certain way to input the code, if I had the manual I would know, but I don't :-S

If anybody could help I would very much apreciate it!

Thanks in advance!

  1. If i remember , you put the first no' in no'1 channel and so on, when you have entered all your numbers press the next no' up to enter. I think!

  2. look at the buttons  on front of the radio. should be around 4 or 5 which you have used for selecting a preset radio station.

starting from the left , this will be your  first input! eg

push it the same number of times as  in the first  code number  you have so if you have say 4 then push it 4 times.

next go along to next button from left again push it the same number of times as on your SECOND code number.

keep doping this until you have inputted all 4 code numbers.

If I recall correctly ( i haven't done this for years) you should have one last button left?

this gets pushed ONCE that enables the code  to  be accessed by the radio. if correct it will start to operate normally after approx 3 seconds or so. if the code is rejected ( you made a mistake?) it may make  you wait a half hour before allowing another go and so on up to so many goes before it locks itself completely and wont allow any more tries.

I can find out exactly if you wish? but cannot  guarantee to post results next day .

  3. if it has the big numbered buttons at the bottom of the stereo you have to push the first button to enter the first number so if the first number is 3 you push it 3 time and for the second number you push the second button x amount of times.

    hope thet helps.

  4. generally when it ask for the code just hit the buttons with the right numbers on it....thats about all there is to it

  5. dandanxr2 has it spot on!
