  1. Stay away from benadryl or sinus medications.  The main ingredient in those medicines will cause jittery feelings and sometimes heart palpatations even if you don't have anxiety problems.

  2. You should call your pharmacy and ask what medicine would be safe to take.

  3. I don't use any of the "Over the Counter" remedies because I also have anxiety disorder.  If I'm really stuffed up I just use a little nasal spray, or some of the saline solution nasal sprays available to help me breathe a bit easier.  Don't use the sprays or drops for longer than three days though, because they can actually make things worse if you use them too long.  I have been able to use a very small dose of  Claritin — Generic Name: Loratadine with some success, I only take 1/4 of the normal dose - any more than that and I'm up all night.  Most of the time I just let nature take its course, plenty of liquids, rest and some good chicken soup :-) Feel better!

  4. Don't use any medications besides the ones your doctor approves right now, messing around with other things can endanger your life. Talk to your doctor about your predicament and make sure he knows what medications you are taking before he recommends anything else. Using medicine that interferes with another can cause serious complications, so don't go running to the cabinet or pharmacy- unless you want to play with your health. So discuss it with someone who knows!:D
