  1. Borrow the money from relatives, parents, close friends?  Get a loan?  Sell a car?  Sell some of your valuables?  Use a credit card?  Take a cash advance?  Get a job for a few weeks and earn it?  Go see a loan officer?   There's a lot of ways to get money especially that relatively low amount.  Just get busy and get to it.  If you need it badly enough, theres a lot of ways.  Just do it legally!

  2. Pay what you can, as you can. $25 here, $50 there.  Get a second job or a subsidized Stafford loan.  Withe subsized loan, you don't have to pay until you are finished with school and the govt pays the interest until you are out of school.

In the meantime, If you are serious about your education, you can get college credit through examination. See: Collegeboard.org  The easiest way I have found is with the CLEP test.  They are fairly inexpensive (especially compared to tuition+books).  You can get 3-12 credit hours for a single multiple-choice 90 minute test.  Even when I made $6.25 an hour, I would put $10 - $20 from my paycheck to save up for the $80 test fee.  I was not even in college, yet, when I took them.

You can do it.  Don't let ~$1,500 get in the way of your future.
