I have a compaq presario v6000, internal mic not working with skype?

First, make sure you have the latest version of Skype installed, version 3.8:

Then check the Skype Audio settings. Go to:

Skype--> Tools--> Options--> Audio Settings-->

Make sure the correct microphone is selected and that the microphone volume level is near maximum.  

You could try setting on: "Let Skype adjust my audio settings"

Check your Sounds and Audio Devices settings at:

Start--> Conrol Panel--> Sounds and Audio Devices

While there, check the "Audio" and "Voice" tabs settings for correct microphone selection and level settings.
