  1. That would seem to be a non-moving violation...Check your driving record - get a copy from the motor vehicle office...And it should not affect your eligibility to join the police.

  2. It's doubtful an equipment violation, basically a fix it ticket, would keep you off the force.

  3. Why not ask the police agency?     It may be something totally unrelated that washes you our of contention.

  4. I would think that is an equipment violation (a "Fix-It" ticket), which shouldn't stop you from joining.

  5. Anything like this could hamper your chances in the law enforcement field.
