  1. Goodwill and Salvation Army only take the clothes for free and allow you to write it off to your taxes.

I know around here there are some places call Plato's Closet that purchase clothes.

If you do find a place to buy them you will at most get a buck for each item, there is no market for used clothes, if they are in brand new condition you can sell them on ebay.

  2. I found a large list of California clothing stores. I bet someone in your town can help assist you. http://www.locateclothing.com/California... Just call one of the California stores or drop by one day when you are not busy and try talking to a salesperson who can help.

  3. As mentioned, the Goodwill and Salvation Army stores are for charitible donations, and will give you a receipt for your tax write off but do not buy items.

Look in the yellow pages under "consignment" shops or stores.  They take used items, sell them for you, and keep a small percentage for their trouble.  You can set the price you want or just let it sell and see what you can get.

Ebay might be worth looking into as well, but they keep a larger portion than do second-hand or consignment shops.  BTW, you CAN sell used clothing on ebay, many people do.

    Good luck!
