I have a couple of questions about astigmatisms?

can they get better to where you don't need glasses or contacts anymore without having surgery? can they get worse?

An astigmatism can get better or worse as you get older. It is caused by the shape of the eye being more like a football rather than like a basketball. Depending on how much astigmatism you have, you may come to a time in life where you dont need your glasses any more. Nothing you can do to permanently increase or decrease astigmatism except for surgery

one of my friend's eyes got better but im not

sure if it was an astigmatism...

i am shortsighted, so can only see close things to me, i wear contacts, and have a different contact for my astigmatism, which is mean to correct it over time, though this may be because i am shortsighted and my vision will correct itself over time, as you get more longsighted as you get older.
