I am putting a laminate hardwood down. After pulling up the carpet I found a crack that kind of buckles up about 1/4 inch or so. Can I sand it down flat or chisel it? What is the quickest way to make this level?

  1. You can buy some cement that comes in a caulking tube. You can get it at any home improvement store. You use it in a caulking gun. You could fill the crack with it and maybe smooth it out so it is more  slanted instead of being different heights.

    gram

  2. You can sand, or use a quick setting concrete mix and smooth it out. I would maybe have a professional look at it though, because if it separates more, it could cause your new floor to buckle and create more problems.

See if they know of any products to seal the crack and keep it from cracking further.
