  1. Your criminal record will not impede your ability to study to become a paralegal. It may, however, affect your ability to get a job as a paralegal. There are a lot of considerations as to the nature of your crime, when it occurred, circumstances, your age at the time, etc. These are things that an employer has to consider.

So go to school, study hard, serve in the community to demonstrate your good citizenship, etc. And hope for the best.

    Good luck to you.

  2. You may become a Paralegal in certain areas but you could be in trouble if another lawyer ever questions your integrity. Serious doubt you could work in criminal law but may do so in estate/wills, real estate,  the "minor" areas of law. You may also be able to establish yourself asa freelance Paralegal doing law research as part time for one or more law firms or corporations. An upcoming high paying career would be as a Paralegal wth a degree in Accounting  for a large corporation where you can do tax forms and able to research tax laws. Good luck

  3. Short answer, in Britain, yes, in America, it may also apply,  but you may also have to interviewed by the Law Society, ( or the equivalent society in America, The Bar Association), but it will not be a disqualification ,and the "rehabilitation of offenders act" will expunge this from your record, after ten years, and you will not have to tell them if this time has passed.....unless you are informed that an exemption order is in force, but it does not apply to the (British), Gaming industry, who work under an "exemption order", and must declare all convictions, including driving offences...., the law even permits lawyers who are convicted of offences to re apply after their sentence is over, after an interview, they also have this type of law in the states, but it does not apply to the sexual offender,

  4. you may be able to work privately but not for the state or Fed gov't

  5. You can become a paralegal, but it may be difficult to find an attorney willing to take a chance on you depending on what you were incarcerated for.
