I have a crocheted skirt that has hung in the closet and is now stretched out of shape. Any help?

  1. You will need to block the skirt.  Soak or wash in cold water, gently wringing out as much water as you can.  Lay out a towel on a flat surface.  Gently stretch the skirt back into shape.  It may help to pin it it place while it's drying.  Use long straight pins or macreme pins to tack it to the towel.  

    The success of the reshaping depends on the fiber content of the yarn.  If it is 100% or at least partly wool, bamboo, cotton, or some other natural fiber, you can expect it to reshape well.  However, if it is mostly acrylic or synthetic, you will have little success reshaping it.  But it is definitely worth a try.

    In the future, store it folded on a shelf like a sweater.
