Question:

I have a crop of sweet corn, it is suckering instead of producing corn, what may be causing this?

The crop is in Eastern Kentucky. I know of three other fields that are also doing this in three different locations all with different kinds of seed.

  1. drought.  the top is drying out


  2. 1)are the seeds uninfected?

    2)are hey getting the proper nutrients, including water at the right time?

    3)are they getting the proper hormonal balance?

    4)is there any nematode infection?

    5)is the soil properly drained?

    if all turn negative, then please contact the state agricultural office since im not at ur place to inspect it myself.
