I have a crush on a guy I used to hate. WTF? (more details)?

So there is this guy who I used to be really competitive with in school. We'd debate about stuff and I disliked how he would always be right when asked a question. Now I've noticed that we have A LOT in common and that he's really charismatic and possibly the only person I know that is not completely absorbed with pleasing people and vanity. I'm not comfortable with liking him, since he used to appear sooo annoying. How do I stop liking him?

People change and mature. Just because you didn't like him in the past doesn't mean you shouldn't like him now.

If you like what you see, give him a chance. It sounds like he's a changed guy and you should change your attitude a bit and give him a chance

you probably used to clash so much because your views were the same and you probably were both "know-it-alls" or maybe just liked to express your opinions. so why stop liking him? just go ahead and follow your instincts? you said a lot of good things about him here, see if things can work out for you!

I don't think you can make yourself stop liking someone. I think you're going to have to roll with it on this one. If he likes you back, who knows? It could turn out to be something very good.

If you really, really want to not like him anymore, you're going to have to try to move on and convince yourself that there are other guys. Unfortunately, this is easier said than done.
