I cut up some tomatoes and forgot to clean off my cutting board. Now I have a big dark tomato juice stain that I can't get off. Is there anything I can do? It is an end grain cutting board if that makes any difference.

  1. Use some bleach and dishwashing liguid. After the stain is gone and the board is dry rub it with mineral oil to reseal it.

  2. Try: dilute chlorine bleach, rubbing fresh cut lemons over it and setting in sun, or hydrogen peroxide.  If nothing has worked, you'll need to sand it down to remove the stains and reseal with you choice: mineral oil (specially made for cutting boards), nut oil such as walnut oil, coconut oil or even beeswax.
