I have a dart 2 fork with tektro aquilla 160 disc brake. If I buy a tora, do I need an adapter for the caliper

It looks like the mount is different on the Tora. where can I buy the adapter? This is a new bike.

I was thinking Rockshox still used the flat I.S. mounts on all their forks....the Pike I just bought has them.    Most manufacturers are moving to post mounts, though.   I can't get Sram's page to load for some reason, but if your Dart has I.S. mounts and the Tora has post mounts, then you may need an adapter.  I'm sorry, but I can't picture the Aquilla caliper in my head, so I'm not positive.....many brakes will mount to post or I.S. right out of the box in the 160mm size, however.   Sometimes you just remove the I.S. adapter and the caliper will bolt right up to posts.   If you're using a larger rotor, then you always need to have the proper adapter that matches the size and brake type (and front vs. rear caliper, too).

Sorry, I know this isn't a definite help for you....I'm thinking you should be just fine moving the brake to the new fork.  If not, the adapters are only like $8 to $12.  Any bike shop can order one for you, or you can find it online at places like http://www.jensonusa.com , http://www.cambriabike.com , or http://www.pricepoint.com

No, both of these forks have the IS 50 mount.

Hey Stan,

Your Dart 2 has 74mm post mounts that mount directly to the Tektro Aquilla disc brake caliper, unlike the Tora which has 51mm IS(International Standard) disc brake caliper mounts.  You will need a 74mm to 51mm IS adapter to mount your Tektro caliper to the Tora fork.  This adapter is made by Hayes, Avid etc.  You need this one:     http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/B...
