  1. try penn foster its good i'm almost done now

  2. My son is doing school thru www.go2iq.com

    great school. check it out.

  3. Check out this site out. www.freewebs.com/hsacademy

It is a tuition free private/umbrella school.

  4. As the previous poster said, log on to the HSLDA's web site http://www.hslda.org  and find the requirements for your state.

If you are not able to home school her yourself, you may want to look into a program that has an umbrella school that will do the paperwork for you, and offer assistance when needed.

One of the most inexpensive programs that I am aware of is through the Christian Liberty Academy,; I have known several families who have used their services with great success.

They also give you a full calendar year to complete a "school year", and if  I remember correctly you can ask for an extension if that time was still to short.

This may be a good option with your daughters special circumstances.

I am not sure if you have a support system that you can rely on, but it may help to contact a local home school group to find out what is available in your area.

I would also see if there is a Teen MOPS group; call MOPS, and they will be able to direct you further.

    Blessings, and good luck.

  5. Once you've sorted out the legalities, I'd recommend you tailor your curriculum to suit this new situation.

You need to cover the basics, of course, but I'd be heavy on parenting related topics. Such as:

Biology- What's happening to you, what's happening to baby.

Nutrition- She needs to be eating properly, and she'll need to know how to feed baby properly.

The more practical experience she can get with other people's babies, the better. I'd also be teaching ethics/philosophy type stuff from a new parent's point of view. It could be a good way to have her research and form her own opinions on parenting issues. Obviously it would be easier if you did it all, but you are the grandparent, not the mum. Her opinions might not end up the same as yours, but at least you'll know she's put thought into it, you've watched her do it! You can have her researching different education philosphies, contemplating sexual morals and all those sorts of things that parents have to make judgements on and pass onto their children. Food ethics, reading books about relationships (is she still with the baby's dad?) Perhaps the two of you can go and take sign language classes, then you'll be able to teach the baby. It might be good for both of you to be a student in that scenario together. You are probably used to treating your daughter like a child, but she's about to have her own, so that isn't going to work so well anymore. The two of you will have to find ways to make your relationship more equal. It'll be tricky, but an interesting journey for you both!

P.S Has your daughter any ideas on what her education should be? If she's chosen to take the fast route into adulthood, she has the right/responsibility (not sure which, maybe both!) to have input into these sorts of decisions. Also, get her in contact with other teen mums. She'll need the social support.

  6. usually you write a letter to your school but call and tell them that you want to withdraw her from school to homeschool her so that way they can get the withdrawl papers ready when you bring the letter up they have you sign some papers, then you need to find the right homeschooling program for your daughter. after all this check how long the minimum school hours are in your state

  7. Everyone already gave you the hslda link, so I will just give you one that will take your right to the "state laws" part of the website.  http://www.hslda.org/hs/state/default.as...

Also after you find out the laws in your state you will need curricular materials.
