  1. You didn't mention the age of your children or their ages, nor which airport you are arriving from. The domestic airport is quite close in to the Milan "Ring" road. I will presume you are going to the International airport.

Take a train to the Dumo area and right there you will find the most beautiful Church in the region. Regretfully, last summer it was covered in scaffolding. But you can go to the roof, which the children will enjoy.

Next door is the Galleria, a major shopping mall for Milan. The children may enjoy the ice cream in side the center.

I doubt they care much for designer shopping , but also within walking distance is the shop for every major Italian/French brand, such as Gucci, Prada, etc.

If possible ask at the tourist place for a city tour which includes the Last Supper, otherwise you can't get in.

Milan is really a business city, and opportunities for sight seeing, in my opinion are limited. Yes, there is La Scala, if you had an evening and tickets, and Milan is close to the lake region -- but the citiy's highlights are few, and less so for children.

  2. The Malpensa express will take you from the airport to the Cadorna train station. From there, it's an easy walk to the Castello Sforzesco, and from there to the La Scala Opera House, the Duomo, and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. If you're up for it, climb to the roof of the Duomo for a spectacular view!

  3. Milano does not have much to offer to the tourist when compared to other Italian cities except shopping really.

If you are an avid shopper, there are a few streets where you cannot miss, even for window shopping. These are; Via Monte Napoleone, Via Della Spiga, and Via Sant' Andrea. Visit these few streets and can also navigate through other connecting ones.

If you want to do the sight seeing thing then make sure you visit the following; Il Duomo di Milano, Castello Sforzesco, Galleria Vittorio Emanuelle II, Orto Botanico, and of course the planetario.

If you do have the time and $$$, try going to the theater.La Scala is great.

Either way, you will have fun as the night life is also quite vibrant and fun.

    ENJOY!

  5. It was pretty easy for us taking the train from the airport to town.

You want to stop at Cadorna Station near Duomo (departing every 30 minutes).

You may want to take a basic tour of Milan which should include the entry to the Last Supper.  This is a good deal because it is unlikely that you can see it on your own because of long waiting list.

You should visit Duomo and go to the roof.  If you have time, you can walk around the fashion district.

A tour office is located across the square and can lead you to the right direction.

    Good luck and have fun!

  6. Idk, but Milan is the best City ever in the world i have been there, Rome, Florence and Bologna. Italy is like the greatest country on earth i swear, the food is great.
