  1. If you hava an external modem connected to your PC and land-line; and a wireless phone connected to your modem phone port.

You will have the headset on your wireless phone, and you will be able to dial from your pc which is connected to your modem.

    Hope is clear.

Now if you want just your PC+Land-line and a multimedia headset,  you could connect via dial-up to the internet and get one of those software applications that call out, but at that point is a vo-ip.

  2. no...can do!!! anytime you involve a computer and a phone ....its VoIP!!

you said that you don't want VoIP...but you have several other options...!

  3. You need a special modem called a voice modem.  This is basically like any other dial-up modem except that it allows voice to pass through to the headset.  Many also come with dialing software and a voicemail setup.  The catch is that you plug the headset into the modem, not into the normal headset jack on your PC.

It seems to me that if you want to use your normal landline, it would be easier just to use a normal telephone.
