  1. Denby Dale made pie plates for Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee in 1887. The major one being an 8-foot-diameter pie.

    There is one currently for sale for £2.80 but I do think that's under valued. Find a dealer who specialises in Victorian items and ask them for a valuation.

  2. Maybe try here -> http://www.irecognisethat.com/show_quest...

  3. It would depend on the condition of the plate (if there are any cracks, nicks, crazing of the glaze, etc.)  Don't go by what you see on eBay.  You could ask an antiques dealer but, again, they might not be able to give you a good estimate.  It's worth nothing that when when have things to sell, the dealers will often try to value them for as little as possible (if they think they can buy it cheaply), but when we are buying, we will be told that the piece is rare and the price is high.

  4. eBay is no measure of somethings worth.

    You should look up your collectors plate in a collectors book or take it to an antique shop and get the item valued as the antique shop will be more accurate.

    I don't expect your plate is going to be worth that much because of the fact that many were made. It depends on how many are sought after.

    I made the mistake of selling a record once that I thought was not worth much, it turned out that the record to a collector was worth £80 because of it was rare and I sold it for peanuts.

    A friend who went in to antiques bought a Jug, it was by itself not worth much but he had the other Two pieces which took the Jugs value from a nice jug @ £15 to one of a set of Three @ £300 for the set.

    So don't go jumping the gun until you have had it valued at an antique shop.  If its worth a bit, put in for auction as you may get more for it.

  5. Yes according to eBay around £2.80 +£3.50 postage.
