I'm going to visit philippines, my visa has expired so I have to go and get it stamped in Embassy. My problem now is that I am a dependent to my mom who is not going with me and my extension is in New York. They said I have to bring a copy of my mom's proof of work, but she works in Texas now and her extension is in Texas. I dont know what to do.

  1. Your question is not very clear.  It seems that you are a Philippine citizen living in the US as your mother's dependent, want to visit the Philippines, and will need to apply for a new US visa while you're there, is that right?  If so, you must, of course, carry proof of your mother's extension of status to show that you are still entitled to the visa.

It doesn't matter that you live in New York and your mother lives in Texas.  If she has a working visa and you were allowed a dependent visa, it is presumed that you will go to school in the US and no one cares where.  You simply need to get and carry with you a photocopy copy of her extension document (probably an I-797).

  2. Apply for another visa at the Philippine Embassy in the US to return to the Philippines.
