Question:

I have a desk top, and would like wireless @ a good price, I live in a rural area where cell service is iffy?

Have a phone line in, does that only lead to dialup? thanks for any help

  2. You can get DSL Broadband which is what I have and it's faster than dial up.  Costs a little more, though.  While I had to have a land line for it, it doesn't tie up the phone.

    I live in a rural area, too, and they told me I wouldn't be able to get wireless internet unless I could see a tower from my home.

  3. If you can't get DSL because of distance or cable Internet because cable hasn't made it out to you then wireless if one possibility. However, if your cell service is not strong either, you might want to look into satellite Internet service. HughesNet and SkyWay are a couple national providers, but just google satellite internet providers for more. If you already happen to have Direct TV satellite, they offer it, too. At least, when I had Direct TV, it was an option.
