  1. is your xp pc set up with an internet connection? Do you have a wireless network (a wireless router or hub)? If you have then just switch on the wifi on your laptop, its a button or switch along the top or side. Then go to Start button and select Connect To from the menu on the right to display the Connect to a network dialog box, you should see your network there

  2. First you need to buy a wifi LAN card for your PC.

    Soecondly buy a wireles switch.

Thirdly enable wireless connectivity in control panel for PC and laptop.

When both will be showing connected do things to make LAN as we do in wired LAN.

  3. for ur desktop u will need a wireless adapter

in the laptop the adapter is inbuilt

so just install the drivers and establish a connection between them

to setup a network between the two

    go to control panel

and then to network and sharing centre(in vista)

and there u can setup a new wireless network

    hope this helps
