  1. Install an internal modem or buy and external USB modem.

  2. Cheap? Take out the modem from your old computer (assuming both are desktops) and put it in your new one.

Not so cheap? Buy a modem from Wal-Mart (again, assuming you bought a desktop). It shouldn't cost much more than $20.

  3. Install all the necessary drivers for the ISP and then plug the phone line into the laptop. There is a port for it.

  4. you need to either switch to highspeed (welcome to atleast the 20th century) or buy a dialup modem for your new unit

if its a good quality it will be a pci modem or you can still buy external dialup modems or

save your money and use a friends computer ort the library

  5. for one thing you should get away from using dial up to access the internet. how are you connected to yahoo answer to ask the question are you using somebody elses pc dial up or high speed interent.

Get a modem at wal-mart or staples or wherever they have computers using PCI or PCI express or external modem cards or get the old one from your old PC hopeully it's not an ISA slot modem card.
