Question:

I have a digital camera question.

I have a Kodak EasyShare digital camera model M753. I tried to load the CD software from the Kodak camera onto my home computer. But I got an error message that said that it doesn't accept my operating system. I have an 8 year old IBM compatible computer. What should I do? Can I just transfer my photos onto my computer using the SD card? Are there any disadvantages transferring photos inserting the SD card into the computer, as compared to transferring photos with the Kodak software and USB cable? Thanks.

  1. You actually had a pretty good idea using the card....other people would have given up and gotten a new one. There are no disadvantages, in fact I'd rather use my card then connect all the wires.

Granted the software might have some really small kid tools like removing red eye and croping the picture, but its much simpler just to transfer using the SD card.

Ok so as far as your computer goes what kind of OS (operating system) do you have? weird! If your computer has an SD slot it cant be that old can it?

  2. If you have a SD slot on your computer, you certainly can transfer them that way.   If not, get a card reader.  You put the card into the card reader and plug it into a USB port on your computer.

I use the slot for my point & shoot, and the card reader for my DSLR.
