I have a ding on my surfboard?

Question

I have a 6' shortboard and theres a small hole on the nose not even and centimeter in diameter do i need to worry

if i do how do i fix it

ummm yeah ur gunna need to fix it, because eventuallly it will start fliing up with water and get 'water logged" and rot

soo you can go to any surf shop and buy a ding repair kit and fix it urself

or im pretty sure if you dont want to do it, theres places that you can have it fixed

Get a tube of suncure, or solarez.  Just slop it n there throw it out the sun for a few minutes and sand it smooth.  In a pinch I recommend using a sticker instead of wax cause it's hard to get the wax out of a ding in order to fix it.  But hey if you're in the middle of a session and have some wax in your pocket ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Make sure the ding is COMPLETELY cleaned out (no wax or 'junk' in it) and then use a tube of sun cure or solarez (available in any surf shop) and fill it in. be sure to follow the instructions. Put it in the sun, and when it is completely hard, follow the instructions and sand it smooth.

If it is any bigger than that, or it looks like the foam has gotten water-logged, take it to your local surf shop and let their ding man fix it. It's not too expensive.

Don't ignore it. Even a small ding can let enough water into you foam blank that it can cause the board to delaminate, or rot, or both.

You should fix it. You don't really want to get any water below the glass. Go to the local shop and but a ding repair kit. Last one I bought cost around $15. If you follow the directions, it's really not that hard to repair it yourself.

atleast put some wax over it for the time being
