Question:

I have a diy aquarium co2 set up and there is water going up my hose from inside the tank itwas just set up ?

  1. First thing - DON'T WORRY. There are two possibilities for this;

    1. Something called SIPHON ACTION is happening. This is the action where water travels up a pipe and starts pouring out, When your co2 system is out of use, take the end of the pipe out of the aquarium water.

    2. There's a problem with your co2 system. I recommend you check all linkages, and your yeast culture to make sure that co2 is being produced. If gas is not being produced, water will be sucked into the canister.

  2. Sounds like the yeast in your reactor hasn't started working yet.

    The warm water you added will be cooling, contracting and sucking water back from the tank. I would loosen the lid of the reactor bottle for a few hours, untill there is some bubbling starting to happen. Then the pressure will build up and push the CO2 into the tank.
