I have a dumb question. Will one camcorder usually have one lens?

Or one camcorder has three or two lenses that can capture pictures from three or two sides?

  1. you may have seen pics old old cameras that seem to have 4 lenses. only one lens was used at a time and could be rotated to use a different size if required.

    generally speaking there are two types of lens -

    In film and photography, a PRIME lens is a photographic lens whose focal length is fixed, as opposed to a ZOOM lens which can move in and out on subjects.

    you'll have to use several cameras in order to capture footage simultaneously.


  2. Not really sure where you have come to the conclusion you can have more than one lens on a camcorder (consumer version that is).

    To my  knowledge exchangeable lens are pretty much reservied for very expensive professional cameras such as used by TV news organizations.  A lens alone for one of these cameras would take most folks a life of savings to afford.  

    Having said that, there is one... The Canon XL series (prosumer) model I think has options for interchangeable lenses, but again, you are well outside the budget unless you do this sort of thing for a living or are just filthy rich with money to burn.
