Question:

I have a dwarf hamster... is she dying?

She is a tiny dwarf hamster and she is about a year and 3-4 months old and she never made a noise her whole life and now she makes these little squeaky noises, she stop going up the ladder in her cage, she just sits on the bottom. she stopped chewing on her wood. and she breathes very heavy sometimes. and she stopped going on her wheel. is she dying?

  1. I wouldn't suggest taking her to the vet. Vet bills are ridiculous.

    But I think she is getting up in the years. It seems she is very weary with old age. Just keep taking care of her like you always do so that she can live the rest of what she has left.

    Dwarf hamsters live, at most, for 2 years, so you've done a good job getting to live this far. :)


  2. My longhair hamster lived to be 4 and a half... maybe she's getting a draft or you aren't feeding her right. Try giving her different food and moving her cage
