We have a 14 gallon aquarium, one gold fish, one molly, one african dwarf frog, a loach, and 2 snails. Should I get a different tank for the betta?? Or will they not spawn if I leave them in there all together? I dont' really want them to spawn. So what do I need to do ?? Thanks

  1. that is not safe for bettas they will fight to the death :( If they do spawn you will be really lucky that they did not kill each other first.Seperate them asap they WILL kill each other. betta means fighter.

  2. NO DONT DO IT. BETTA FISH EAT EACH OTHER. DONT DO IT. well at least my betta fish ate the other one. take them out now. or take 1 of them out now

  3. I have seen a male and female betta living together peacefully but the tank was much bigger, usually most experts will tell you not to do it (male and female betta together). They will spawn if they want to, so it may or may not happen. All the fish you mentioned are tropical fish except for the goldfish. Tropical fish thrive in temperatures in the low 80's, the goldfish would prefer a temperature around 65-72 degrees because goldfish are coldwater fish.

  4. I don't think thats will go to great!

  5. Well, the goldfish needs to be in a different tank then the mollies snail and dwarf frogs. They are tropical species and require a heater, and goldfish are coldwater species that would die in warmer water because there is not enough oxygen. Here is how to breed bettas and raise the fry. Let me warn you, they are not a good fish for the begginer into breeding. If you want an easier fish to spawn, try dwarf gouramis!

    Good luck!=)

    Also, the goldfish needs at least 20 gallons of water.

  6. u have no say in the matter if the male and female bettas are ready to spawn they will just do it, with the other fish,loach and frog there fine

  7. the problem i see here are not the Betta's but the goldfish

    he needs a separate and at least a 20 gallon tank by that by himself

    if you have lots of live plants and hiding spots in your tank, the 2 Betta's together won't be a problem
