  1. My beagle mix does the same thing. It is an act of submission and they can not usually help it.Don't scold her when it happens, it's best to ignore the behavior and quietly clean up the pee. To help control this, and I know this is hard, you have to act like there is no dog there when you get home. She may jump and bark to get you to greet her, but it's best to wait. After she has calmed down then give her the attention. Sometimes I am just as happy to see my dog as she is to see me and I just clean up the pee like nothing happened. But for the most part putting off the welcome home greeting works very well. Good luck.

  2. I heard the best thing to do is when you first come home do not acknowledge her... let her calm down and then greet her.. she is so excited that she just can't hold it in..and when you use that little baby voice it makes them piddle.

our husky was the same way and it used to drive us nuts...

  3. She is more submissive than dominate.  Some will grow out of it & some are just so submissive they never stop.

  4. She is excitied most chi's do that my girl does that when shes so excited! Most grow out of it! Mine hasnt!

  5. Shorty, my chihuahua did the same. try being extremely gentle and nice with her every time u get close to her. and let her come to u, instead of u going to her. and then encourage her and pet her be very nice. That helped my Shorty. She still peed around others but not me... try it.

    good luck, k?

yeah also it depends on the reason and the pup. ignoring her might also work... u just gotta figure out which works with her
