I have a fever blister, can i still go to the orthodontist?

I get my braces off tomorrow, but I just got a huge fever blister on my lip, is it still okay to go, or should i cancel the appointment, I really want my braces off!

  1. you should keep your appt and you should also see your regular dr fever blisters are very often a form of herpes known as simplex.your orthodontist should know what to do.


  2. It will take a week for the blister to heal. So if you can wait a week more I'd advise you to do that.

  3. i would go . they use gloves .get caramex for blister .. .. but i would go ahead and go .

  4. You should wait.

    You don't want anything to happen and it to get more infected.

    Just wait for a week or so, and it shall heal and you'll be fine.

    I only advise this, but it is possible that you can go do it on the day you have booked, I know how exciting it is to get those d**n thing taken out!!!

  5. call and tell the receptionist about your blister and see what they say, it will save you from going there for nothing. my dentist won't see anyone while they have an outbreak  of blisters.

  6. it should be OK but, just in case try using something to get rid of it fast. If you could get it use some blistex.
