Question:

I have a few 30 day late payments almost 2 years ago. they say that they stay on your credit for 7 years.?

when i check my credit report it only shows me the late 2 years so i was wondering if those 30 day late payment affect you less after 2 years.

  1. 30 day is not all that bad.  Everybody misses a payment once in a while.  The important thing is that there are not bunches of these, because creditors look for patterns.  The second most important thing is that it's caught up and not recent.

    What you're describing isn't worth worrying about.


  2. It will stay on your report for 7 years, that is correct.  But after two years of solid payments that are NEVER late, it will become less and less important.  So, your credit will continue to improve as long as you keep your record in good shape.

  3. It will remain on your credit profile for quite sometime.
