I have a few Hot Wheels Redlines from 1968 to 1970, I would like to know how much do they cost now?

Custom Mustang from 1968

Splittin' Image from 1968

Mongoose from 1969

Twin Mill from 1969

Whip Creamer from 1969

S'cool Bus from 1970

These particular models I heard are very valuable. I would just like to enquire some information about the value. I'm not thinking of selling them at the moment.

  1. Ebay is an easy way to see current market values of Hotwheels cars and trucks. I believe the S'cool bus is a particularly hot item. IF they are in mint shape, they usually bring anywhere from $10-20 on up, and more if they're a rare color ( some colors predominated, like a greenish-gold and yellow - others like a hot pink or blue, were not as common on them ). So it all depends on the color, condition, and model. Websites are easily found with common values of the early Redline Hotwheels cars, like the other answerer posted. Ebay is a good start to see CURRENT sellling prices in the open market, just go to Auctions Ended, and search on your cars, and see what they brought. The really high-end cars are still in the original packaging, since I assume yours are loose, they won't bring hundreds of dollars, but can still be quite valuable if in mint shape. If they're chipped and wheel axles bent, don't expect more than $5-10 each.

    - The Gremlin Guy - still has his original Matchbox and Hotwheels cars and trucks, in VGC...

  2. Like the others said, it depends mainly on condition and color.

Custom Mustang from 1968 - can you see thru the hood scoops or are they solid? Open hood scoops bring a premium. Is the rear window louvered? That one also brings a premium. Even a "junker" can bring $50 with one of those rare varitions. Otherwise it really depends on the color, anywhere from $60-70 to over $300 for a mint one. There is also an ultra-rare variation with a black top that commands a bigger premium.

Splittin' Image from 1968 - usually not much, maybe $30-40 even in mint condition, except for harder to find colors.

Mongoose from 1969 - does it have a window? If not, look on the underside of the body for the number 6969, if it has that and it is in mint condition you are looking at a couple hundred$$, if not, maybe $50 tops.

Twin Mill from 1969 - usually not much, maybe $30-40 even in mint condition, except for harder to find colors.

Whip Creamer from 1969 - usually not much, maybe $50-60 in mint condition, except for harder to find colors.

S'cool Bus from 1970 - desireable, but very common. Has to be near mint to bring over $100.

Most of these, if common variation, will only bring $2-5 if they are in "junker" condition with missing parts, broken or scuffed windows, bent hood or cowl, or just massive overall wear to the paint.

I use some Hot Wheels on my train layout.
