  1. Why paint them. Most sign shops will produce vynil numbers, letters or whatever you want , dirt cheap.

Just make sure the area is clean and grease free, peel off the backing and stick them on.

  2. yacht varnish from the chandlers,at any marina or ships chandlery.Available in different colour paint.

  3. Go with the stick on type! You will find that you have to have either white letters on a black background or black letters on a white background,so unless your boat is black or white you will have to paint the backing as well. Stick ons are much handier.(and tidier!)

  4. Humbrol modelling paint

I kid not, we use it on our boat, it never fades, its very opaque and thin so you get a smooth crisp edge. Coat over it with thier clear varnish for added wear resistance.

Chandlers paints are designed to also be a protective layer, therefore they are thick and gloopy and not suitable for sign writing.

  5. I used to use stickers on my boat. It looks neater

  6. some from a shop

  7. 1st thing you will have to do is buy stick on letters and hope you spell correctly.......its spelled fiberglass

  8. there's some stuff called marine paint that's for fibreglass. dixons can get it, if there's a branch near you

  9. You can go to a ships chandlery, and they will advbise which is best, But, You can now get stick on decal type numbers and letters. You may find these better.
