I just got a rug and it needs to be cleaned desperately, I want to keep it but I need to get it clean... HELP! I have a Bissel Quicksteam

  1. If you have a Bissell Quicksteam - then use it on the rug.  Try it twice with mild soap.  I am sure it will come clean.  Vacuum the rug thoroughly  first before you steam it clean.


  2. Go buy a large box of white cornstarch. Take the rug and the cornstarch, go outside, and pour the cornstarch liberally all over the rug, rubbing it in well.  After that, turn the rug over and shake it until the cornstarch is gone from the rug. You should see that the crud stuck to the cornstarch and is now gone.

  3. No guarantee but worth trying (You cannot use bleaches because they'll damage the fabric and colour),try a solution of water and sugar soap,it is gentle on the fabric and will not damage colours.It depends how dirty it is,you may have to repeat the process.
