I'm stopping at De Gualle airport and I have five hours to kill. Will I have enough time to visit the Eiffel Tower and make it back to the airport in time for my flight to Italy? Thanks

  1. No you wouldn't. The round trip from and back to the airport will take at least 2 hours (50 minutes each way for the train rides alone + walking time) and you are supposed to arrive at the check in counter 2 hours before your next flight. In order to spend 30 minutes outside the Eiffel Tower just to take a picture, you'd have to be boarding the train leaving the airport at least 4 1/2 hours before your next flight, which is impossible if you only have 5 hours between the two flights.

  2. You might have time to view it from ground level, but you wouldn't have time to go up it.  It will take an hour after you land to clear customs and immigration.  Then it takes about an hour to get to the tower and an hour back.  The line to go up the tower is often at least 30 minutes, and to come back down can take even longer.  Then you also have to be back at the airport early to check back in and go back through security.  Seeing the tower is not likely to be worth risking missing your flight to Italy.

  3. Nope! UNLESS  U had a bunch of money thennnnnnnnnnnn

You could hire a cab (prob $100 each way) a one hr trip and have a look about and then come right back,..

It could be done but u would have to be flexible and bold!!

  4. Not worth it.  You need an hour to Paris and then an hour back.  Plus you'll need to be there extra early to pass international security - because once you leave - you'll need to go through security all over again.

There is nothing around the airport to see.

Get a good book and/or some good music and stick it out.  Sorry it is not better news.  Good luck.  Hope you can go to Paris some time when you can do it Justice.

  5. No.  It would take too long to get there & back, especially since you don't know where you're going.  The airline employees at CDG are not exactly helpful, in my experience and I speak French quite well.  Seriously, stay there, go to a cafe for a while then get back in line and wait.  Sorry it's not better news.
