  1. just make sure you thoroughly clean every surface they are on. the bomb should take care of the majority of them. Be sure to wash anything that is material.

  2. If you get flea medicine make sure the box says that it kills eggs to.

  3. The flea bombs should take care of the inside -- put one in the garage too.  The kind you get at the grocery store should work fine. Make sure you don't leave anything living in the area that you are "bombing" -- the fog will leave a film.  About the cats, please, please get flea and tick medicine from the vet.  Imagine how awful it would be to have fleas biting you constantly!  The kind that you get at the grocery store is not powerful enough for such an infestation.  I like Advantage, but depending where you live, your vet may have a better alternative.  The medicine drops right in between the cats' shoulderblades.  It is truly amazing, the fleas will die and fall off immediately.  The medicine should last for 2-3 months.

  4. There is no reason for fleas to be a problem anymore. There is a product you can get from the vet called Frontline which will literally make nearly all of the fleas drop dead right off of your cats.

Flea bombs work wonders as for getting the fleas out of the house. Just be sure to turn off the pilots on your gas appliances.

  5. Throwing the cats out won't kill the fleas and eggs that are already in your house. In fact, treating the cats and keeping theminside to spread what you treated them with by thier fur is a better solution than throwing them out and bombing.

You can buy Capstar and Frontline Plus at drsfostersmith.com . The Capstar will kill all the fleas on your cat almost instantly and the frontline will prevent re-infestation. Use the Capstar right away. It will kill all fleas on your cat with in an hour. It is imperative that you do not skip this. Frontline (or advantage, revolution, promeris, etc.) is only effective if the flea bites the cat. Fleas have a 3 week lifespan and only feed for a few days of those three weeks, so you must use Capstar to kill all live fleas on your cat. After you Capstar add on the Frontline Plus and it will keep fleas off your cat for 30 days. Any eggs that hatch will be killed when they feed by the Frontline. Refrontline every 30 days. No vet visit required and totally safe.

Capstar - Treats flea infestations on pets. Starts killing adult fleas on the pet within 30 minutes. One dose lasts 24 hours. Use when pets are likely to be exposed to fleas. Also may be used prior to surgery, boarding, or grooming. Active ingredient is Nitenpyram, which interferes with the normal nerve transmission of insects, effectively killing them. Not a preventive.
