Is there a shuttle between Reagan National and Duelles that I can take? I only have about 1 1/2 hours in between flights!

  1. No shuttle.  If your flight at Dulles is on a weekday between 4-7pm, you'd be in the midst of the worst of rush hour, and there is no way you'd make it.  Even if outside of those hours, it will be tough.

Get a taxi or change your itinerary!

  2. Super Shuttle will do it.  I'd book them in advance.  It will cost less than a taxi.  But make sure you call them and let them know your issue.

  3. You are cutting it tight, but unfortunately, no metro or shuttle available. If I were you, I would either plan ahead for car service, or taxi. Also, depending on the time of day, you could be in major grid lock!!!!

  4. No shuttle - no metro. You've got to take the taxi or rental car. If you're traveling during peak traffic you will not have time to get there and check in through security in 1 1/2 hrs. Good luck!!

  5. i think there is a shuttle between the two airports, you should either call or go online to find out if they have a shuttle service between dulles and national.

or you can go to trip planner at the site linked in my source section and put in your info it'll tell you how to get from dulles to national. hope this helps!

  6. You are in a serious bind.  1 1/2 hours is not enough time to get from DCA to Dulles and still check in/out of both airports ...go through security, etc.

Since you are in such a time crunch, your only real choice is taxi and it will cost you dearly.  With tip...approaching 75 bucks.

There are cheaper alternatives, the Washington Flyer coach picks folks up from West Falls Church Metro, but that alternative is non-starter as it would take you more than an hour going that route.  I provide the link to the Flyer below.

Again...suggest you simply take a cab and hoof it big time to Dulles.  Also, have a back up plan just in case.

  7. Are you kidding????!!!???

Good luck!  This wasn't the best flight plan ever.

No shuttle!  You'll have to get a cab and hope to god you're traveling with NO traffic!

The drive from Reagan to Dulles at best is about 35 minutes...you add traffic to that and you'll miss your departing flight.

Is there any way to change your itinerary?

  8. I'm not going to say it's impossible, but it will be a very close call if you manage it. From Reagan airport, take the Metro (blue line) towards Largo Town Center and get off at Rosslyn station. According to the Metro's website, this will take 11 minutes and cost $1.85 during rush hour, or $1.35 at any other time. From Rosslyn, you will need to take the 5A bus to Dulles airport. This will cost $3.10 and take about 50 minutes. From there, you would need to promptly get checked in and through security, and then proceed directly to your gate. Changing your flight itinerary suddenly sounds like a rather feasible idea.
