It just stopped working one day, it didn't refill like it should, and I managed to turn on the water and be able to flush it. But now I can't even do that. Even with the shower, and sink on, even with cold water. I looked inside and the little tube that deposits water is just dribbling now. How do I fix this?

  1. sounds like it may be stopped up with lime  this should be $15 item at a DIY store just replace it

  2. On some models you can take apart the mechanism and clean it out. You cal look at it and see if it is serviceable.

If not-Just replace it with a fill kit. They are not expensive.  A cheap one is about $10 and good one is about $15.

There is one that has no float or ball. Just a pressure switch---thats the easy way----check out Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot.

  3. Doubt that you have a Fluidmaster toilet, probably just their fill-valve. Parts DO go bad. You can get a new one for under $10 at most Home Centers or hardware stores. Keep the installation instructions since they also tell you how to do maintenance if it fails later. Fluidmaster 400A is what you want.

  4. I agree that a new ballcock is probably in order.  However you should make sure that your supply valve is not clogged.  Opening it and closing it a few times should improve the flow.  If it doesn't then replace the ballcock.  There is a  ton of information at fluidmaster.com.

  5. you need to turn off the water, and replace your fluidmaster valve
