grab one of the shop manuals they are pretty informative, start with removing the outdrive.

Remove either the stern leg drive head or the complete leg assembly.That will then give you access to the six bolts that go through the clamp ring into the intermediate drive housing.The six bolts are locked by three lock tab strips.Once you have disconnected the front engine mounts, hoses etc, slide the engine forward about 8 to 12 inches then it will lift straight up (obviously depending on cabin configuration if you have one.
