I have a free trial of kaspersky now looking at the ''network monitor'' tab of the kaspersky

''generic host processes for win32 services'' running with 12.1kb incoming traffic and 14kb outgoing

another

a colored green check named system with 26.1kb incoming and 1mb outgoing

are these okay?

Yes, the network monitor's main purpose is to show you what network connections are established and the programs behind them, very rarely is it going to show something that is bad in there, most of it is legitimate. A lot of the programs you see in there are also running and can be viewed in task manager.
