I have a freezer for food, that has rust stains inside it,how can i get rid of the rust stains?

Is it safe to put frozen food in the freezer,if i cannot remove the rust stains?

There is a product called Wink. It is a liquid that just makes rust disappear, I would rinse it really well though. It is a chemical.

I am not familiar on the latest chemicals to remove rust.  Me, it would have been - unplug /MT freezer /sand out rust and then Tremclad paint the area and force dry it with hair dryer.

    Rust only happens when water forms(meaning freezer is not freezing).    Other than that, there is no harm in having the rust stain there.    Just put a plastic bread bag over the area and it won't come in contact with the food if you are worried.   They are in bags or wrapped up as well too, right?  Rust is the finished process of the steel.(Iron oxide)
