I have a friend american that is required a BTA of 3400 before she can leave Nigeria. True or false?

She said her travel agent says for an american citizen to leave Lagos Nigeria on KLM of which she already paid for the ticket. He won't give her the ticket until she pays a BTA of 3400.00 and is holding her ticket hostage. Is this truely required of an american leaving Nigeria?

  2. BTA's are only required for Nigerains leaving the country for a visit abroad.

    Other nationalities never have to pay anyone for it.

    It's just  another Nigerian scam. Don't loose your money!
