We've seen stories on TV that people are selling parts of their homes before the foreclosure is finalized. Wanted to know if this is an okay thing to do.

  1. This same thieving mentality is the source of many folks' problems,

IF they spent as much energy doing the right thing, as they do scheming, they would avoid the many problems they create for themselves. Period. Straighten up and fly right, as my parents and grandparents would say...

  2. He could be prosecuted for stealing and damage to property.

  3. Of course it's not OK to do that.  Anything which is a 'fixture' in the house should stay with the house.  That includes countertops, central A/C units, plumbing fixtures, lighting fixtures and anything else which is an integral part of the house.

Your friend is already s******g the bank by not paying back the amount which he borrowed from the bank.  Now he thinks it's OK to s***w the bank even worse by stealing parts of the house which he didn't pay for ?

  4. If they are in debt, they don't own those things, since they are part of the house.  Selling parts of something you don't actually own is a good way to add jail-time to their list of woes...

But they already knew that, didn't they?

  5. It is NOT ok. Things that are built-in stay. Those that remove that are thieves and subject to prosecution if the bank wants to.
