I have a friend involved in check fraud.?

I have a friend, he is in jail for checks that were stolen and cashied. His name was on the checks, but he did not cash them or write them. What kind of time is he looking forward to?

  1. If he did not write them he needs to find out who did and clear his name but maby he just said he didn't write them.Check fraud is a fellonie


  2. I think you need to go back and check your friend's facts. You can commit a crime by cashing or writing checks fraudulently. But just having your name on them is not a crime, unless he was involved in some kind of conspiracy to commit fraud.

  4. if they find his soly responsible then hes gonna be tried for thios matter and if proven guilty he can face up to a year if it being his first offense and depending on how much was cashed..but also u have to consider they might order him to simply pay the money back if he has it .. but when that happens it usually up the the plaintiff in the case as well as the d.a to rule that out.. even still when ever their is money involed in the crime it either has to be paid back by the defendent  or the state..and when its payed back by the state the defendent does the time in some states its 85 dollars a day...in others its by the crime ... all depends..hope this helps
