  1. the ask the be home school and free

  2. for the first step:

    * knowing what special talent he have!

    * look special school to growing his great talent up

    * optimize his talent

    * and the last giving spirit

  3. Your friend probably didn't have an IEP with the school.  His parents would have to request and this would help a great deal, as it would modify his assignments to his level making the "playing field" a little more level for him to do his work and succeed. I admire you for wanting to help your friend.

    ADD is hard... I would recommend setting a timer and trying to help your focus on reading or math for that amount of time. Encourage him to focus... set the timer starting with 15 minutes increments, if he can handle 15 minutes. gradually progress... I would try to teach more reading if he will work with you, b/c this will help him, if he goes back to school. I think the GED would be too hard for him to get. Try to get him back into highschool. If they modify his classes and get him help, he'll probably graduate. The IEP is key ( individualized education plan)... The school and his parents and your friend would work up a plan. This does work. I have an autistic child. my child is 7 1/2 but we've had the plan for going on 3 years now.

    Ask the school diagnostician for help. The EC dept can help, as well as, the guidance counsellor.

  4. Check with your local high school or board of education about adult education classes.

    Take him to sign up and help him study.

    God bless your efforts.

  5. Consider having him go to the nearest community college for advisement if he is over 18. They can steer him to the right place to help him with his GED. If he is under 18 or if he has an IEP, have him get back in school. He can go to a counselor at the school and ask about what help is available. If he has an IEP, he can stay in school until he is 22.
